The efficiency of a car engine depends, among other things, on the quality of the fuel-air mixture. If the quality of gasoline is not particularly high, then the fuel injectors quickly become dirty during operation. And when working at high temperatures, solid varnish deposits form directly on the microfilter meshes and near the calibrated holes, which reduces productivity and changes the shape of the spray pattern. Therefore, regular cleaning of engine injectors is required.

The consequences of contamination are:

– difficult starting of the engine;
— unstable operation of the motor;
— increased fuel consumption;
— deterioration in dynamics;
— loss of power;
— the appearance of detonation due to a lean mixture and an increase in temperature in the combustion chamber;
– pops in the pipe;
– misfires, etc.

When using European quality fuel, injectors rarely require cleaning. However, many manufacturers recommend changing them every 120,000 -140,000 km in any case. However, with our gasoline, the need to clean the injectors may appear after 15,000 -30,000 km.

Washing methods

Uninterrupted operation of the injection system is the key to stable operation of any gasoline engine. The injector will work correctly if there are no deposits in the fuel rail and if the injectors operate uninterruptedly. Today, 2 methods of injector flushing have become widespread:
– liquid without dismantling the injectors;
– on a special ultrasonic stand.

Washing the injector at a service center takes about an hour and a half. Each washing method has its pros and cons. With the liquid chemical flushing method, the entire fuel system is cleaned, including the valves and combustion chamber. The compression balance in the cylinders is normalized, the content of toxins in the exhaust gases is reduced, and this is important for the smooth operation of the engine. But deposits in the injectors themselves are poorly removed by this method. Only injectors are cleaned with ultrasound: they are dismantled and washed on a stand. If necessary, several cycles are done. Before installing them back, you can replace the microfilters .

The price of injector flushing depends on the car model, its age, mileage, volume and type of work. Do not try to clean the injector yourself. Using cleaning additives in a car with a heavily contaminated injection system can lead to a negative result: washed dirt will enter the injectors and contaminate them even more. Contacting the DK-Auto car service will allow you to return the system to a working state in a short period of time.
