It is not necessary to adhere exactly to the specified data; it will be enough to get as close to this value as possible.

You should also consider the time of year in which you plan to use your transport. The choice of candle based on heat transfer will depend on it. With the highest heat index reading, preference should be given to hot periods, respectively, with the lowest reading to winter days.

In general, the selection rule can be described as follows: at high speeds for long distances we choose “cold” candles, for short distances at an average pace we choose “hot” ones.

How to use candles correctly

Spark plugs must always match the engine type. The larger and more powerful the dimensions, the higher the heat rating should be (cold). Another important point to note is the type of gasoline. It is advisable to always stick to the brand that was originally specified in the technical documentation for the car.

To determine the correct installation of a particular spark plug, you can pay attention to the insulator. Its color will indicate if there are problems creating a spark. During normal use, a light brown tint should be clearly visible. A very white tone will indicate incompatibility with some elements; it must be replaced with a “cooler” model. Carbon deposits can also serve as a kind of signal for problems – there is not a sufficient degree of heating, which does not allow the spark to pass properly.

Maintenance in general is quite simple, especially for those who travel only for the most necessary cases. Average statistics point to the 10 thousand km mark. It is after overcoming this milestone that the regulator should be cleaned and the electrode gap should be set to the correct level. As a cleaning element, you need to use something with a not very sharp surface; we try our best not to damage the electrode.

Ideally, there should be no plaque on the surface of the spark plug; if it is present, then you need to immediately take care of removing it. You can use a brush with very fine steel hairs. An alternative is special chemicals sold in stores. This option is perfect for beginners.
