Opponents of car gasification cite the issue of safety as their main argument. Supposedly gas poses a greater threat than gasoline. However, all objective data refute this statement. First of all, you should pay attention to such important characteristics as temperature and concentration necessary for combustion to occur. According to these indicators, gas looks much more preferable to gasoline and diesel fuel.

It would be foolish to deny that after installing LPG, the car’s fuel system will become more complicated, and along with this, the likelihood of a leak will increase. But this is a force majeure situation, from which owners of vehicles running on liquid fuel are not immune. As practice shows, to prevent leaks, only timely maintenance and compliance with all rules for operating gas equipment are sufficient.

It should also be noted that the gas cylinder itself eliminates the possibility of an explosion, since this requires the presence of oxygen. This is only possible in two cases: if the cylinder is faulty or has received serious damage. The latter option seems unlikely, since at any junkyard you can find mangled cars with intact gas cylinders in the trunk.

Of course, one can imagine a situation in which a gas cylinder will be destroyed (for example, falling from a great height, falling under the wheels of a train, etc.). However, in this case, the propane-butane mixture will not explode, since this requires a closed space, but will simply leak out. And the driver, as well as passengers, after such an accident, most likely, will no longer care what happens to their vehicle.

In any case, a gas cylinder made of durable and fairly thick steel is much more reliable than a gas tank that looks more like a tin can. In addition, it constantly contains a mixture of gasoline vapors and air, which creates excellent opportunities for an explosion. But what speaks most eloquently about the safety of cars equipped with gas equipment is the statistics, according to which for every burnt-out car with a gas installation, there are several hundred with a gasoline power system. As they say, comments are unnecessary.

If you have purchased high-quality gas equipment and entrusted its installation to qualified specialists, then there is no reason to fear. It is enough just to follow the most basic rules for the operation of gas equipment, as well as monitor the tightness of the system.
