According to the rules for installing gas equipment, this process takes place in two stages.
At the first stage, you need to select an LPG kit for your car. To do this, you need to inform the specialist in what mode you plan to use the equipment: constantly or periodically, how long you plan to operate the car as a whole. Based on this information, the specialist will draw a conclusion about what kind of gas equipment needs to be installed so that the purchase and installation bring you real economic benefits and do not turn out to be a waste of money.
As a rule, it is advisable to install 2nd generation LPG on carburetor and injection cars produced before 1990. For younger cars, the optimal solution would be to install 4th generation gas equipment.
After selection, the installation process begins. In the case of a standard car, a standard set of equipment and the absence of unexpected problems, switching the car to gas takes about 4-6 hours. Sometimes it may take more time: up to 2 days, especially for rare foreign cars.
After completing the installation of gas equipment on the car, the process of adjustment and debugging begins. Now you can refuel the car and check the functionality of the system. The purpose of the adjustment is to ensure optimal fuel consumption while maintaining engine power.
In a good car service center, after converting your car to gas, you will be adjusted using a computer and a gas analyzer. However, experienced craftsmen are able to check the correct operation of the LPG by ear. The final adjustment is carried out while the car is running.
