Contamination of the evaporator is natural in cars whose air conditioners do not have a supply air filter. Poplar fluff and other debris sucked in by the fan clog the evaporator honeycombs, reducing cooling efficiency. To restore normal operation of the air conditioner in this case, it is necessary to remove the dashboard, dismantle and clean the evaporator.

Contamination of the condenser with dust, dirt, insect remains, and poplar fluff greatly reduces its heat exchange with the surrounding air, impairs the operation of the air conditioning system, and can cause emergency shutdowns of the compressor and discharge of the refrigerant (if the automatic protection is faulty, it may jam).

Malfunctions of electrical equipment in the control circuits of the air conditioner, fans in the cabin and on the condenser can have a negative impact on maintaining the desired microclimate in the vehicle interior.

The addition of warm air (or reheating) in cooling mode occurs due to a malfunction of the air distributor flaps , tap or solenoid valve of the heater, which does not block the circulation of coolant. In this case, the cold air after the evaporator is heated again in the heater, i.e., the work of the compressor becomes useless and engine power is wasted on it.
