There are two types of crimpers used  – mechanical and hydraulic.

The weak point of a car’s air conditioning system is the hoses connecting the air conditioning compressor to the condenser and the low pressure side. Most often, rubbing against foreign objects or rupture of the hose due to high pressure occurs.

Hoses connect parts of the air conditioner that are movable relative to each other or subject to vibration. For example, a compressor and a condenser. The compressor is rigidly fixed to the engine, the condenser is mounted to the body. If you connect them with a metal tube, it will not work for even an hour.

Air conditioning hoses are designed for high pressures. This is especially true for the pressure line. In operating mode, the pressure in it is 10-15 bar, and in emergency mode it can jump to 25-30. Hoses fray, crack, leak from beads, flow along their entire length, and explode.

Car air conditioners use two methods of refrigerant delivery: rubber hoses; aluminum tubes. Finding a new hose can be time consuming and costly. Car air conditioning hoses often cause freon leaks .

High-pressure hoses are repaired in the most civilized way – “At the root”, the pipes entering the hose are sawed off and new “herringbones” are welded to them. The required piece of the new hose is cut off and steel crimp cups are put on it, then the hose is placed on the “Christmas trees”. Next, the cups are crimped in a hydraulic device.
